There is actually a stylish restaurant bar a.k.a. in Taipei. My Taiwanese friend told me about this, so I went to The Top.
It is located halfway up Yangmingshan in Shilin District, and there are three ways to get there:
- By taxi
- By Uber
- By Bus and walk
I heard that there was a bus leaving from MRT Jiantan Station, so I got off, but I had no idea where the bus stop was or where the restaurant was, so I ended up taking a taxi.
So, if you want to take a taxi from the beginning, Meitoku Station might be the closest one.
Well, considering the cost of taxis in Japan, it might be better to take a taxi from within Taipei city .
By the way, I tried taking the bus on my way back, but the closest bus stop was near an university, which was quite a walk down the mountain (on an asphalt road), so I think a taxi or Uber would be the correct answer.
When I arrived in front of the store by taxi, there was already a line.
Even though it’s Taipei (albeit in the suburbs), it’s near the top of a mountain, so I remember it being so cool that it was a bit chilly to wear a T-shirt at night. (December)
I told the staff at the restaurant and got a receipt with my number, and while I was waiting in the slightly chilly weather wearing a T-shirt, my number was called and I was shown to my seat. I feel like it’s better to make a reservation, but I’m not sure if you can make reservations over the phone in English.
I think you should expect to have to wait for some time if you don’t make a reservation.
I walked to the seat I was guided to. . . There. . .
yeah?
nhh?
Whaaats!??
So in front of me is a pool with an infinity-like design that is lit up. A night view of Taipei city ahead. Taipei 101 can be seen in the distance.
A space where the tension rises appeared.
And I was shown to a very nice seat. There’s nothing blocking the view in front of the pool, so it’s a wonderful, extraordinary space!
That’s why I’m drinking alcohol and eating sweets. We enjoyed the time in front of the wonderful space and night view!
Sweets also look great!
However, it’s not a club, so there’s no place to dance, and there’s no loud music, so I think the concept is to enjoy your time while drinking in a stylish space. The atmosphere is club-like.
I think there was hot pot in the menu in the restaurant.
When I left the restaurant, there were many customers waiting in line.
A night view from a vantage point a short distance after leaving the store.
On the way home, there was a Starbucks (Kusayama branch) that was renovated from a former US military house.
It’s a little far from central Taipei, but the space is nice, so I thought it was worth a visit.
I don’t think you can use credit cards, so it’s better to bring some cash with you.
By taxi, Uber or Bus and walk
Definitely by taxi from Taipei city.
